Abraham is one of the greatest biblical examples of faith and in this respect is called “the father of us all”. Having heard the call and promise of God, he obeyed and began a journey of faith, a journey in which he walked imperfectly and yet one in which he persisted through challenges and setbacks, ultimately seeing the fulfilment of what had been promised. This is an example for all of us, to persist in believing in the God who, despite our doubts and failures, is faithful to perform his word and will always honour his covenant.
