Our past should never define who we are or who we will become.
In 1 Peter 2 we are called living stones, placed upon a foundation
of all that Jesus has done for us and Romans 5 and 6 tells us we
are free from the confines of sin when we present our bodies as
living sacrifices holy and acceptable to God. Jesus died so we may
live.
Ps Harry talks to us about living free in Jesus no longer slaves to
our past.
